Radisson Blu Durham is stepping in to support St Cuthbert’s Hospice by donating an entire fundraising event to help raise vital funds for the charity.
The community support comes as the hospice continues to rely on fundraising to sustain vital care services.
Radisson Blu will host a special fundraising dinner on St Cuthbert’s Day (20 March), donating the venue, catering and staff to support the much-loved local hospice.
Around 200 guests are expected to attend the event, which will bring together members of the local community, businesses and supporters of the hospice.
St Cuthbert’s Hospice provides care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families across County Durham. Like many hospices across the UK, the charity relies heavily on fundraising and community donations to help sustain its services.
The fundraising dinner is part of ongoing efforts to support the hospice and ensure it can continue delivering care to local people when they need it most.
Stuart Lloyd, General Manager at Radisson Blu Durham, said:
“St Cuthbert’s Hospice provides incredible care and support for families across our region. Hospices are under increasing financial pressure, and we wanted to do something meaningful to help. Hosting this fundraising event felt like a great way to bring the community together in support of the hospice.”
Kay Carrick, Development Team Manager, St Cuthbert’s Hospice, said:
“Support from local businesses and the community makes an enormous difference to the hospice. Events like this help ensure we can continue providing care and support to people across County Durham and their families.”
The event will include a dinner for guests along with fundraising activities in support of the hospice.
We will share a further update following the event with the total funds raised.
